Do you enjoy a traditional afternoon tea, cream and scones, sandwich triangles and tasty cakes. Its a lovely and totally British tradition. I organised a Vegan tea party for some local vegans from Manchester and Bolton vegan groups which I am a member of. The tea party took place at vintage tea rooms ‘Time for Tea’ situated in Prestwich just outside the village center on the approach to Mary’s park.
Our menu consisted of Sandwiches on white and brown bread (Avacado and chilli, Hummus, organic peanut butter, salad and pure margarine and finally violife cheese slices), Fruit scones served with fresh coconut cream and strawberry jam and cakes (mini bakewell tarts, jam sponge roll, flapjack with apple compote, chocolate muffins and farmhouse fruit cake). Everything was very delicious.
For drinks, not only did we have a choice of tea or coffee but also hot chocolate with rice or soya milk and fruity iced tea. The venue were so accommodating and we had plenty of food left over for everyone to take home. Why not also support a local business by organizing something at an independent venue.
If you would like to host an event at Time for Tea, then here is the website- http://www.timefortearoom.co.uk/ we payed £7 per person including private hire. The cafe opens for public access most days and vegans can be accommodated but with a less extensive menu. As well as afternoon tea, the tea rooms also offer breakfast goods such as crumpets, hot lunches and dairy ice cream.
